WHAT ARE THERMAL TRANSFER RIBBONS?
Thermal transfer ribbons, sometimes called foils, are a wax or wax-resin based roll of clear plastic film used with thermal transfer printers and specially coated thermal transfer labels to apply colour pigment to a label. The plastic film part of the ribbon is coated on one side with a coloured pigment. The colour of the pigment denotes the colour of print, black is the cheapest and most common, but we stock the ribbons in a variety of colours including blue, brown, red, magenta and green (aswell as the standard black). The ribbon transfers the ink onto your label.
